Day 14...NO End In Sight....

Good Evening Internet Friends.

I hope you all had a BEST Day EVER Sunday today.

We somehow slept in.  Doggie usually has me up by 0500 for his morning walk, but today he let me sleep.  After a leisurely breakfast we headed out to the park to walk around the lake that we had planned to yesterday.  Yes, my elbow is still swollen and black but I did not want it to get more stiff so off we went.  It was a lovely walk and the ice was better than yesterday.

After lunch while I got laundry started I cast on a new project.  It will be a matching cowl and toque.

I baked a loaf of coconut banana bread but some Monster got in to it before I could get a photo.  Oh well....It was yummy though.

We are still eating from the pantry and freezer and making sure that NO food goes to waste.....mostly it just goes to my waist.... For dinner this evening I made lemon pepper chicken, lemon aioli, jasmine rice with green onions, and roasted mushrooms/zucchini/onions.  Turned out delicious.  I even ate a bit of chicken:

After dinner in between loads of laundry I sewed on the first two center block borders for my Lush Quilt:

TAH DAH!!!

Hope this inspires your own creativity and wishing you all the BEST Day EVER Monday tomorrow.  Stay safe at home, WASH your hands and get out for a bit of fresh air if you are able to maintain social distancing.

Cheers

Day 13...Still Self Isolating...

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Not quite sure where the day went and or what I accomplished.  We did eat three meals and several snacks today.  Walked the dog around the community lake this morning and then after lunch headed out to the "BIG" lake in the park near us.  On our way there I slipped on some covered with snow ice and WHACKED my elbow really hard during the fall.  There was some bleeding and a LOT of swelling so we headed home.  I of course decided to assess my self and diagnose that my elbow is not broken simply because I did not wish to go to ER as that place is full of people with I am not sure what.....I'll be fine.....I think.

After a nap this afternoon, and left overs for dinner I did put the borders on the centre block of my Lush Quilt:

TAH DAH!!!

Hope this inspires your own creativity.  Wishing you the BEST Sunday EVER tomorrow.  WASH your hands and social distance but hope y'all can get outside for some fresh air as well.

Cheers

Day 12...but who is countin' ?

Good Evening Internet Friends!!!

Hope you are all still enjoying your Self Isolation time and staying home. 😷

Doggie and Kiddo were walked of course several times today.

I finished up knitting my second sock from the KnitCrate subscription box that I got switched to when Sock Crush merged with them.  Although the pattern worked up quite nicely I was definitely not a fan of the yarn that was supplied.  Sock Crush had beautiful Indie dyed yarns and the box I got in the transition felt very much like mass produced, bulk craft store quality.  These socks shall be the ones that I wear in my hiking shoes for walks in the bush I think:

This evening after dinner I spent a wee bit of time in my craft room and started to work again on my Lush Quilt.  This is the Block of the Month for 2018/2019 that was offered by my local quilt shop Sew Divine.  I stitched the last 4 Dresden Plate blocks to their base.  My plan is that in the next few days a row at a time each evening I can get this quilt top completed and ready for long arming.

TAH DAH!!!

Hope this inspires your own creativity.  Wishing you the BEST Day EVER Saturday tomorrow.  Stay safe at home, get out for some fresh air and exercise if you can while practicing social distancing and WASH your hands 🙏.

Cheers

Day 11...

Good Evening Internet Friends!!!

Hope y'all are keeping well.

Up and out with kiddo and doggie twice today for a total of 7.12 miles.

Still eating from the pantry stash.  Dinner tonight was Lentil balls with Couscous, spinach, mushrooms, and fried onions on top:

One of our favourites so I made enough to have left overs for tomorrow🍲.

Did a bit of knitting today but nothing to really show.

After dinner I did Step 7 of the Laundry Basket Mystery Quilt Along:

"Sew" far I am managing to keep up with the daily steps.  Let's see how long I can keep this up😼

Hope this inspires your own creativity.  Wishing you all the BEST Day EVER Friday tomorrow.  Keep safe, get outside for some fresh air and exercise if you can and WASH your hands🙏.

Day 10...

Good Evening Internet Friends!!

"Sew" as you know I have decided to participate in the Laundry Basket Quilts Mystery Quilt Along.  Here are blocks 1-7 completed!!

The quilt is made from yardage but of course I do not have the yardage and I certainly was not about to go out and purchase fabric as I am trying to decrease my crafting purchases.  I am using fabric from my stash and hopefully this works out.

Out with kiddo and doggie twice today so walked just over 7 miles.  Here's hoping that we are not several pounds heavier when this is all over.

Hope this inspires your own creativity and wishing you all the BEST Day EVER Thursday tomorrow.  Stay safe, try to get outside for some fresh air and exercise and most importantly; WASH your hands.  🙏

Day 8...

Good Evening Internet Friends!!

Day 8 of Self Isolation for us.  Kiddo is now on to his second week of NO School.  It is supposed to be Spring Break but alas we cannot go anywhere.  We walk the dog every morning and evening when there is low risk of the neighbors and children being out.  Other than that we try to keep busy and maintain some form of routine.

Food wise we are still okay.  I did make a Costco run this morning to get 4 of the gallon jugs of milk (we drink a lot of milk) and some more fresh fruit.  I do have lots of frozen and canned fruit but still prefer fresh.

For breakfast we had fruit bowls with yogurt, English Muffins with poached eggs and a glass of milk to start the day.

After our walk with doggie this afternoon we baked Peanut Butter Cookies.  SOOOO yummy.  Have to watch portions on these or I will not be able to wear pants soon.

After dinner I spent a bit of time in my craft room and worked on the next step of the Laundry Basket Mystery Quilt Along:

Hope this inspires your own creativity.  Wishing you all the BEST Day EVER Tuesday tomorrow.  Stay Safe, get outside for some fresh air and exercise if you can and as Always.....WASH your hands🙏.  Stay Safe.

Day 7...

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Today was an actual Self Isolation Day as I did not have to work 😷

Sunday at our house means it is Awful Waffle Sunday.  No fresh strawberries (not sure when we will have any of those again) so I used the last of fresh raspberries:

SOOOOOO yummy.

After breakfast we took doggie out for a walk around the lake community.  Saw LOTS of Canada Geese while we were out there.  We decided that they must have taken the Prime Minister's message about all Canadian's coming home seriously.  These three were demonstrating Social Distancing nicely:

The lake was quit inhabited with them as well.  Guess no one prepared a place for them to stay......

This evening I completed Step 3 of the Laundry Basket Quilt Along

This is 20 of the 100 blocks that will be made for this quilt.

Hope this inspires your own creativity, wishing you all the BEST Day EVER Monday tomorrow.  Stay safe, get outside for a bit of fresh air and a walk if you can and WASH your hands 🙏.

Day 6

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Day 6 of Self Isolation in our part of the world.  Off work for the weekend now so will actually be able to participate in Self Isolation.

Walked kiddo and doggie down to the village to see what was new and get in our exercise.  Made 4.96 miles round trip so that should do us.

Made a batch of Rocky Road Brownies for snack while we played a couple board games this afternoon.

Currently I am making sure that we eat the fresh fruit and veggies from the refrigerator and using only ingredients that we have on hand.  I did pick up one jug of milk this week but that is all.  Really trying not to go out.  For diner I made a Cottage Cheese Souffle (cottage cheese from the freezer) with oven roasted fresh veggies.  Turned out delicious and will have left overs for tomorrow.  🍲

After dinner and before last walk around the lake with doggie I completed Steps 1 and 2 of the Laundry Basket Quilt Along:

I am using fabric from my stash vs the yardage that the pattern calls for "sew" will see how this turns out.  "Sew" far "sew" good.

Hope this inspires your own creativity 🧵 and wishing you all the Best Day EVER Sunday.  Stay safe, get out in the fresh air if you can and WASH your hands 🙏.

Day Three...

Good Evening Internet Friends!!

Day 3 of Official Self Isolation.  I of course do not get to self isolate 😷

Came straight home after work.  Made dinner, washed 2 loads of scrubs for my commute to and from work.  After necessary things were done and doggie walked I cast on my second sock:

Hope this inspires your own creativity🧵 and wishing you all the BEST Day EVER Thursday.  Stay safe, get out for a walk in the fresh air if you can and WASH your hands 🙏.

Day 2...

Good Evening Internet Friends!!

Day 2 of official Self Isolation.  I went to work, kiddo did go to school briefly to get his personal items from his locker and then home.

Dinner was refrigerator left overs so tomorrow I will cook a fresh dinner so that we have left overs.  Prepped my lunch for tomorrow, walked Doggie and then decided to do some quilting.  Amazing what I can get done when I don't have other things to do.

Here are blocks 21 and 22 of the 2017 Flock of Geese 52 Week Block Challenge hosted by Darlene D'Eon Designs:

Planning to cast on a second sock before I go to bed this evening as well.

Hope this inspires your own creativity🧵 and wishing you all the BEST Day EVER Wednesday (Happy 🐪 Day).  Stay safe, send a letter in the post to a friend and WASH your hands 🙏

And So It Starts...

Good Evening Internet Friends!!

Hunkered down after work this evening as part of the Social Distancing that we are to be doing as a community to stop "The Beast"!  Not sure how effective that is going so far on Day 1 as there was MORE traffic on my commute this morning than usual🤷

After dinner took Kiddo and Doggie out for a walk as they both need some fresh air.

Then, because I have lost my responsibilities of lunch packing, laundry, and homework checks for the time being I spent some time in my craft room.  Project of choice for this evening was an adventure in my scrap bin to find fabric for my 2017 Darlene D'Eon Designs 52 Week Block Challenge.  In my move of 2018 I managed to misplace some of the blocks.  Here is my endeavor for this evening:

TAH DAH!!!

Once again, no uncut fabric was used for these blocks!!!  There is something very satisfying about turning my scrap fabric in to something else. ☺

Hope this inspires your own creativity and wishing you all the Best Day Ever Tuesday tomorrow.  Stay safe, call a friend and WASH your hands.  🙏

Flattening the Curve...

Good Evening Internet Friends!

It has been a while since I have had time to blog.  🤷

Today was a conscious decision to "Flatten the Curve".  In my head though I had the Good Ol' Boys song stuck in my head𝆕.

We started the day with pancakes, fresh fruit and Quebec maple syrup.  Apparently we have no whipped cream in the fridge so added that to my Grocery Wish List.  Who knows how long that will take to get.....

After breakfast we took doggie out for a really long walk.  The neighborhood was super quiet.  No one seemed to be doing anything.  Was very odd to see. When we got back I made a batch of Rice Krispie Squares. I had bought the cereal a couple of weeks ago before the crazy shopping began.

Turned out delicious as a treat.  After that I decided to get serious about planning for the week with lunches etc and knowing that what we eat mostly has to come from what I have at home.  Banana bread of course is a staple for lunches and no worries there are still LOTS of frozen bananas in the freezer.  There will likely still be bananas there when the pandemic is over.  🤣

While the banana bread was baking I finished the toe stitching on my latest sock.  🧦

Might try to start the other one before bedtime this evening.....

For dinner I made a Cauliflower, Green Bean, Lentil Dahl as these ingredients were all available in the house.  I also made a batch of fresh naan bread to go with and topped with herbed sour cream.  So yummy and there will be left overs for tomorrow!

After dinner I finally got around to washing the basket of scrubs that I have been keeping in the garage.  I wear my scrubs to work and then change in to the hospital ones for my day at work.  At end of day I put my own scrubs on to travel home.  The reason for this is that scrubs are able to be washed in hot water and dried in a hot dryer.

While I waited for the laundry I finished the last row of my 2018 Red and White 52 Week Block Challenge from Darlene D'Eon Designs:

This quilt called for a patch work and snowball block a week for 52 weeks.  I chose however to make this quilt larger to fit on my overstuffed bed.  I made 156 blocks instead of the 104 so I will justify my tardiness on this quilt by that factor🤣.

We have no learned that school will be cancelled indefinitely.  🏫  This is going to be interesting......however, tomorrow I will put on my scrubs, wash my hands and go stare this beast in the face!!!  Literally.

Hope this inspires your own creativity and wishing you all the BEST Day EVER Monday tomorrow.  Staff safe and WASH your hands.  🙏
