Cut Once, Stamp Twice

There is a distinct possibility that this is my most despised Designer Series Paper EVER!  It did not look bad in the catalogue, but when I got it....  OMG, all I could think of was very old ladyish (the fabric I made into a table runner and sent to my grandma - who thought it was beautiful - of course she does think that dusty rose is pretty color).  

To get rid of this (too frugal - can't throw it out), I decided to start using it up.

The card base is crumb cake, a piece of Old Olive Designer Series Paper and the Springtime Vintage Designer Series Paper.

The card on the left also uses the coordinating Baby Blossoms Stamp set (the frame is part of the floral set).

The card on the right has a piece of Blushing Bride Pleated Ribbon, and the big rose flower in the center I cut out again from another piece of the same paper and used a foam dot underneath!

Might have to send one of these to Grandma for Mother's Day.

Cut Once, Stamp Twice

Today I decided to design the basically the same card, from all the wonderful stash of supplies that I have lying about my craft room (except for the Melon Mambo I had to "borrow" from Karina - my own personal Stampin Up store ; ).

Both cards started with Melon Mambo bases and Whisper White run through the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.

The flowers on the left were cut with the Triple Flower Punch and the leaves are from the Owl Punch (heart) as I do not have any Stampin Up leaves punches.  The trim is leftovers (gasp and clutch chest now, then breath) from last spring's Mini catalogue.  The greeting is also a leftover from Sale-a-bration 2011!

The flowers on the right were cut at 2" on the Cricut from the Create a Critter Cartridge (Zebra shift), and the trim I found at what will probably have to become my new favorite scrapbooking store in the Edmonton area: the Urban scrapbook as I have recently found out that my favorite scrapbook store has been sold (very sad face here).......

Personally, I like the Cricut one with the pretty flowers best!

Cut Once, Stamp Twice

Today I decided I should play with my new Mouthwatering Stamp Set.

I cut Early Espresso for the back ground, Very Vanilla for the accent, and used the First Edition Designer Series Paper for the card on the left.  I cut out the squares with my 1" square punch.  The cherries are colored using my Stampin' Write markers to get 2 colors.  I cut out the cherry on the left and used Stampin Dimensionals for this.  I did use my new edgelets die as well on the Espresso edge and then the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.

The greeting on the left is from the Swirls and Curls Verses stamp set for hostesses.

Cut Once, Stamp Twice

I actually made both of these cards from my stash box, however, because I made two of them at once, using the same materials I did not post them as S"crap".

The card base is whisper white card stock, the Designer Series Paper is Cheerful Treat, and the ribbon is a left over from Sale-a-bration 2011 (OMG - old product -AGAIN......).  

The card on the left is stamped with flowers from the Flower Fest stamp set and colored with my Copic markers.

The card on the right is also the Flower Fest stamp set (butterfly too), again colored with Copic Markers, but this time I used my flower punch to punch out the flowers.  The flowers are put on with Stampin Dimensionals, and the butterfly is attached with a glue dot after wings were bent to look more like it was in flight.

The scallop border is made from a really old (the printing has worn off of it) punch that I do not remember who manufactured it, but it still works, so I am not going to upgrade it!

Cut Once, Stamp Twice

I LOVE these Sweet Shop Designer Sticker packages from the Spring Mini Catalogue.
For these cards I used a piece of Poppy Parade card stock, and a piece of Designer Series Paper from the Domestic Goddess line.  The paper is the same for both of these I just used a different side of the same piece for both cards (heeheehee).
The oval piece in the center was cut out using my wonderful friend the Coluzzle (OMG!!! she's using out of date contraband product AGAIN!!), and the frame was the next size up in the Coluzzle oval.
A sticker in the center to finish it off.
I thought about adding more to these, however, I think the simplicity of these is beautiful.

This project did not meet the criteria for Oh  "S"crap" It's Monday, because the card base made of Marina Mist came from a new piece of paper.

The rest however, is scrap pieces. 

The stamp set for the flower stems is from the Bold Blossom Stamp set (Stampin Up Mini Catalogue Spring 2011), the flowers are from the Flower Builder Punch, and one was a scrap flower from the Flower Die.  The fabric button on the left card is also a left over from the 2011 Spring Mini Catalogue, and the button on the card on the right is from Sale-a-bration 2011 as well.   

The greeting on the card on the right is from the Touch of Kindness stamp set from the Summer 2011 Mini Catalogue.

Cut Once, Stamp Twice

Here is another edition of my Cut Once, Stamp Twice idea for the year.  This paper comes from the Sale-a-bration promotion that starts today with Stampin Up.  I used Lucky Limeaide card stock for the base, a layer of crumb cake and zig zag stitched the designer series paper to both cards.  The card on the left the image is from one of the stamp sets you can get during Sale-a-bration called Fresh Vintage.   The image was stamped on whisper white then applied to Lucky Limeaide card stock and stitched around the edge with Pool Party Bakers Twine (had to get more fiber in there).  The card on the right has flowers punched from the designer series paper as well as the solid card stock using the triple flower punch, and an antique brad in the center one just because I thought it was pretty.  

Now if you look closely on the left you will notice a matching envelope.  I love my Simply Scored Tool, and over the holidays started playing with it and decided to make envelopes.  It has just come to my attention that Stampin Up will be introducing a tool to assist with this, however, I will post my version of how to make envelopes tomorrow.

Cut Once, Stamp Twice

These are another Red Eye Craft special (made at 0100 hours - why- could not sleep).  I used early espresso card stock for the base, more of the Letters to Santa Designer Series Paper (still trying to use it up - like zucchini - have to hide it in everything).  Another piece of early espresso run through the Snow Burst embossing folder.  The images are stamped on very vanilla paper.  Since it was 0100 hours I did not want to do the same project multiple times, so the one on the left the image is from the Snow Much Fun stamp set (hearts are from Merry Winter).  The card on the right has the image from the You Are Loved stamp set and I maker colored the image as I wanted to get as much detail as possible out of it.  Ribbon on the bottom is Early Espresso with Early Espresso Bakers Twine.
