Watermelon Bowl

This is the watermelon snack bowl that my son made last week at Crock a Doodle.
The picture does not do this bowl justice as the opening is off set, so the bowl really does look like a rounded watermelon shape.
He thinks it's pretty cool and so do I!

Long Gone to Saskatchewan...

Last week when I went in to Crock A Doodle in Spruce Grove to get my cupcake platter I found out that they were doing a kids class making watermelon bowls.  I will show the one my son made tomorrow, but, when I took him in for the class I made my own watermelon bowl, and here it is!  I LOVE it.  Honeynut cheerios tomorrow morning here we come!
Now, for those of you not from Saskatchewan you will wonder why the watermelon? Has a watermelon ever even grown there (unlikely)? But, I have attached a link that might help understand this somewhat:
This is also appropriate because I am currently on route to Saskatchewan to visit Grandma for the weekend, and of course will be singing Long Gone to Saskatchewan.
Now, if you're still not sure that you understand how we "roll" there, here is one more link that I think is hilarious, especially the part about setting the "E" brake....

Summer Cross Stitch Tea Towel

I finished this Summer Cross Stitch Huck Towel some time ago.  I found it today in the drawer, and decided it was time to bring it out!  Summer may have finally arrived in Alberta (maybe....).

Watermelon Card

Today I felt like spring might be trying to "spring" here in Edmonton.  The little snow in my front yard is almost gone, and the sun has reappeared in the sky (happy face).
I decided I would play with some of my more fun spring/summer stamp sets today and so I got out the Mouthwatering stamp set.
I used my Stampin' Write markers, to colour the stamp prior to stamping it, but the colour was not bold enough (I thought), so I colored it again after I stamped it.
The card colors are Garden Green, Real Red, and Whisper White.
The Whisper White was run through the Cuttlebug in the Square Lattice Embossing Folder, and the ribbon is 1/8" Real Red Taffeta Ribbon.
The "Just for You" greeting is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.
Hope this inspires your own creativity...
