Teacher's Convention

Good Late Evening Internet Friends!

My son had today off for Teacher's Convention and I had my regular day off today.

We stayed up late last night watching movies and then slept in this morning.

After breakfast we headed out to Emerald Hills to do some shopping.  We hit up almost every store there and got him a hair cut before going to Red Robin for lunch.

After lunch we came home, took the dog out for a walk and then made dinner.

My Yarn Crush box arrived and I was so excited about this months shipment.  The box contained:

A Thrumming Kit for a Full pair of mittens, not fingerless mittens.  I am so excited to get started on these, but I got two sets of socks on the go, and some quilting, oh and wait some scrapbooking things too!

As for scrapbooking I did finally finish my December box of Paper Pumpkin:

The kit was for a monthly calendar on a holder stand.

I have cancelled my subscription to Paper Pumpkin as of this month because the kits are really hit and miss with regards to quality.  The paper is not Stampin' Up quality and there are a lot of kits that I just don't like and will not likely ever use.

Now I should likely go to my craft room and do some of these projects ☺

For the December calendar block I used Early Espresso and Very Vanilla card stock from Stampin' Up, and coordinated it with the Candlelight Christmas Designer Series paper also from Stampin' Up.

November Calendar

Now, I know that Thanksgiving is in October here in Canada, but I like this image and the idea of giving thanks, so I am going to rationalize that it is okay to use this image for November.

The card stock is Sahara Sand, Cajun Craze, and Whisper White from Stampin' Up.  The Designer Series Paper is from the Bountiful Harvest collection from Stampin' Up in the fall 2012 mini catalogue.

The image is of course from the Year-Round Cheer stamp set, and the buttons were some left overs, but I thought that they were pretty : )

October Calendar

For the Halloween block I have used Sahara Sand, Basic Black, and Whisper White card stock from Stampin' Up, and the black cat Designer Series Paper is from the Halloween line a couple of years ago (you know I won't throw it out if it's still useable).

The flower buttons are from a Stampin Up button collection, and I just thought that they were FUN!

June Calendar

This is the June view of the calendar.

The base of the card is Sahara Sand topped with Pacific Point card stock (Stampin Up), and a small layer of Dotty for You Designer Series Paper (Close to My Heart).  

The brads in the corner are left overs from something.  The stamp set is from the Year-Round Cheer stamp set.

I used my gold marker in an attempt to make the trophy look more sparkly!  Not sure it worked, but I tried.

May Calendar

I got so caught up in other crafting that I forgot to put the rest of my calendar photos up.

This is May.

Used Sahara Sand for the base, topped it with Pacific Point card stock (both Stampin Up.  The Designer Series Paper is from the Dotty for You collection (Close to My Heart).  

The flowers are from a big box I got on sale a long time ago at that awful big box store with an "M", and the brad is from ??????? (but it was pretty).

The greeting of course is from the Close to My Heart Stamp of the Month called Year-Round Cheer.

Again, the base is Sahara Sand, Pacific Point, and Whisper White from Stampin Up.

The image is from the Stamp of the Month for December from Close to My Heart.  The ink colors are Raspberry Ripple, and Pacific Point.  The Designer Series Paper is Dotty for You from Close to My Heart.

The flower is a plain white flower that I got at that awful box store that starts with an "M" a while back.  They were on clearance, a box of a million (?) for $0.99.  I used my Summer Summer Starfruit marker to color it.  The brad is from Sale-a-bration 2012.

January Calendar Page

If you follow my blog, or know me, you will have likely figured out by now that I have commitment problems when it comes to crafting.  Now, don't get me wrong I LOVE being able to create, but I have a problem with being "loyal/faithful" to one product or means of creativity.  Hence, the reason my blog rambles all over the crafting spectrum from food to fabric, fibers of sheep to pulp (paper).

Today, I started on a product I found on another blog: Jen's Jewel Box of which she used the Close to My Heart Stamp of the Month to create a calendar with the miniature images in the December set.

Now, here comes my take on this.  I of course have several different craft product used in mine version.

The base is Sahara Sand card stock layered with Pacific Point and Whisper White card stock from Stampin Up.  The designer series paper is from the Dotty for You Collection from Close to My Heart.  The button, bakers twine and ink is Stampin Up.

So, there you have it....some of the best of everything!!
