Best Day Ever......(Again)...

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Today was the Best Day Ever (Again)!

My day started off my friend dropping off a whole bunch of home baking that she did this week.  My son thought this was as good as Grandma coming to visit because I only ever make one type of cookie at a time, and today he got:

Chocolate Muffins
Peanut Butter Cookies
m & m Cookies
Chocolate, toffee, hazelnut Cookies
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Lemon Blueberry loaf (in the freezer)

Along with jello and juice guess what his diet consisted mostly of today???

After lunch I picked up my special promotion boxes of yarn for Local Yarn Shop Day which was today at River City Yarns.  I LOVE that place.  They seriously have the BEST stuff.  Each box contains 5 mini skeins and a cat stitch marker and came with a store bag:

I really want to get started on one of these but alas I am supposed to be studying for my National Re-certification exam in less than a month.

Yesterday my friend Tara (cookie lady) and I were supposed to attend the Drayton Valley Quilt Show but I was unable to attend as my son was ill and needed attending.  Very fortunately another friend was going and she agreed to pick up my pre order from Purple Katz Quilting.  I was able to get this order this evening and now I think I shall head off to my craft room to see what all I can cut with my fancy new Tula Pink Rotary Cutter.  Thanks Liz.

I had pre ordered the Tula Pink All Stars Fat Quarter Bundle to replace the Tabby Road Quilt I had made for my Grammy (long story there), Tim Holtz Wide Backing for my Flowers for My Wedding Ring Quilt, and the rotary cutter as I like having 2 and I like heavy rotary cutters.

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

I LOST the Weekend....

Good Very Late Evening once again Internet Friends!

I had BIG plans for this weekend but not sure where they went.

On Saturday my son and I got out all the Christmas decorations, the tree, ornaments, dinner ware etc and made the house pretty for Christmas.

The Madeline kitten had great fun with this:

After dinner on Saturday we went for a walk to Candy Cane Lane.  The weather was perfect and the light displays were beautiful:

Today was my son's Christmas Piano Recital and afterwards our "City Family" as my son calls them (family friends) went for brunch.  Great to catch up with everyone and celebrate another year of family friendships.

Now to get some sleep and start the work week again tomorrow.

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

Grateful

Good Evening Internet Friends!

My blog title for this evening sums up how I feel this evening.

It is the Thanksgiving Day Weekend and my family and I were dinner guests at a friends home.

I made pumpkin streusel pie with cinnamon whipped cream (yes it was delicious):

I dropped off a quilt top at my local long arm quilter....now to see if it ever gets finished and or returned.....not too attached to the quilt if it does not come back:

Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend and

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

Sunday Funday...

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Earlier today I packed up kiddo and the dogs and piled into the F 350 Super Duty crew cab with the 8' box!  Over the past week this has been my daily vehicle...I jokingly call it the Sunday goin' to meetin' truck in reference to a lady back home who used to haul her children everywhere and to everything in a similar mode of transportation.  I love having to park this "bus" as my brother refers to it in downtown traffic!!!!

Before we left I made a quick card and prepared a little surprise pack for a friend of mine who is feeling rather low. I have not stamped or made cards in a while so I did not over think this one, and I like the results.  One of the things that turned me off of stamping including being told that Stampin' Up is not in the business of creating loyal customers, they are in the business of "making business" was how competitive and elaborate cards seemed to have to be.

This card has none of that; it was just fun to make:

I found this little lunch box thingy in my stash of gifting treasures:

Inside I put:

Monkey fabric and:

Some Christmas fat quarters that she had been looking at similar ones the other day. ☺

Hope it makes her feel better at least a little when she finds this in the worm hole (her mail box).

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

Hello Friend....

A very good friend of mine has been going through a tough time for the past year or so, and unfortunately, it does not seem to be getting better any time soon.
So, last night I decided that I would make her a card and mail it to her so that she would have something happy in the mail!
I used Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, and First Edition Designer Series Paper.
The stamped image is from the Moving Forward stamp set from Stampin Up.
I hope this gesture makes her feel better even for a little bit : )
Hope this inspires your own creativity...
