All Day......

Good Evening Internet Friends.

"Sew" I attended the Flowers for My Wedding Ring quilt class at Sew Divine today.

Here is what I accomplished after all day (6.5 hours) in class:

Here's hoping that this is just a learning curve and the other 45 blocks go together perhaps a little quicker otherwise I might be finishing this quilt in the new millennium.....

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

Ready.....Set....Sew!!!

Good Evening Internet Friends!

In typical Kathy tradition I finished my sewing home work just hours before class tomorrow morning.

Here are my 49 A and B arc sets for my Flowers for my Wedding Ring quilt.  I am taking this class at Sew Divine.  I have always wanted to make one of these quilts and on top of that the class is offered on Saturdays and is close to my home.  Perfect!!

Here the arcs are in all their glory before they become ring blocks.

"Sew" pleased with myself to actually be doing this.

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

It's Back....

Good Evening Internet Friends!

"Sew" very excited as this evening after dinner I picked up one of my quilts that I sent out to be long armed.  This quilt has had quite the adventure.  It waited for almost two years to be quilted.  I actually thought it had been taken from me as I had lost track of where it was.  In January when I got it back I aired it out and then took it to a local long arm quilter who had done quilts for me previously.  She called me yesterday that it was ready:

Tomorrow I shall pick up some binding for it.  The entire quilt top is made of scraps and for that I am super proud of myself.

Week Five!

Good Evening Internet Friends!

"Sew" as of this evening I am caught up on the first four weeks of the 2018 52 Week Block Challenge hosted by A Needle Pulling Thread Quilt Shop:

Now I know it is week five, but that still gives me 6 days to get Week 5 Block done and still be on task.

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

Canadian Moment....

Good Evening Internet Friends!

While my son was at swimming lessons today I enjoyed a bit of time to myself that I am referring to as my Canadian moment.

I had my Tim Horton's Steeped Tea and was knitting away on my Joji Starting Point Wrap of which 4 of the 5 skeins are from Canadian dyers:

Grey Sparkle - Sweet Georgia Yarns

Dark Blue Sparkle - Julie Asselin

Turquoise - Ancient Arts

Variegated - Ancient Arts

Only the Mid Blue Sparkle is not a Canadian Dyer.  That skein is one that I picked up last year Vogue Knitting Live last year in Las Vegas.  The yarn is from Forbidden Woolery.

Now I supposed it would have been more Canadian to be knitting this in a hockey arena, or a curling rink, or better yet while Ice Fishing, but this was the best I could do.

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

Saturday Fun

Good Evening Internet Friends.

Sometime late last evening the snow finally stopped falling.  I actually had a FUN day in the snow.  First of all it was kind of fun to drive to work fresh snow on the roads.  At one point the Focus felt like it was off roading in the snow. ☺

This afternoon kiddo and I headed out to the River Valley with the dog.  We spent 2.5 hours out in the snow.  Part of that was that it took longer to get any where!  There were drifts in the Valley that were 2+ feet deep and so hard that I could stand on top.

Kiddo and Dog had a great time:

Back at home we made hot chocolate and for dinner we had Turkey chili with all the trimmings; corn chips, avocado, green onions, salsa, sour cream, and sharp cheddar:

So yummy and filling.

After dinner I spent a bit of time in my craft room and assembled another A and B arc set for my Flowers for My Wedding Ring quilt.  I think I only have two more sets of these to make before next weekend!

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

More Rings!!!

Good Evening Internet Friends!

It's Finally Friday!!!!!  After being ill last week and still not feeling 100% this week I am super excited about the weekend.

This evening my son had an extracurricular school event "sew" that meant I was home alone for almost 4 hours.

Guess what I did???

I made another set of the A and B arcs for my Flowers for My Wedding Ring Quilt.  I am not usually a fan of Batik fabrics but I really love the vibrant colours and look of the fabrics for this quilt:

TAH DAH!!!

I just might be able to get all of the rings sewn for class next week at Sew Divine

Hope this inspires your own creativity...
