I LOST April....

Good Evening Internet Friends!

A look at the calendar as I sat down to blog made my realize....I LOST APRIL 2020!!!  Seriously.  Where did she go?  I knew Mother Earth was on a time out, but seriously.

I still get tired very easily if I try to do too much so taking it easy most of the day.  

I planned to make some greeting cards to send out for Birthday's and to friends that I know have been staying home on isolation due to medical conditions.  

I got side tracked though......

First I appliqued a cup towel.  I bought this set over a year ago at Sew Divine.  Previously I have appliqued one of these towels so today I did another:

Then I decided to head over to my scrapbooking area of the house but on my way I found this lovely skein of cotton yarn.  I decided I NEEDED a new dishcloth....or someone did.

So I spent some time this afternoon knitting this:

TAH DAH!!!

That was my day.  I think this may be how I lost April....

I Made It...Again.....

Good Very Late Evening Internet Friends!

I made it to the weekend and this evening I actually completed another of my many in waiting, in progress quilting projects.

Tonight's project was to put the binding on this table topper:

It is a quilt kit that I picked up at The Quilt Patch a while back.

Once the top was quilted it once again sat until this evening after dinner when I decided that I should put the binding on!

TAH DAH.

Now it is even ready for the Thanksgiving table next weekend!  ☺

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Today was a Do Nothing Day for kiddo and I.

We went out to get a few things but with no itinerary it turned into just some fun times.

After dinner this evening I spent some time in my craft room working on block 5 of my Row By Row block.  All the leaves are now appliqued and the barns have been placed:

Now it's off to bed because I have to volunteer for one of my son's extracurricular groups tomorrow.  ☺

Good Evening Internet Friends!

It is finally Friday and for a short week, it sure seemed like a long one.

After dinner and vacuuming this evening I decided to spend some time in my craft room.  Me time!

I did not feel like working on anything I already had in progress, nor did I want to start anything big.  Another Row By Row block seemed like the perfect solution.

Here is part of the tree from the Village Quilts block that I picked up in Lethbridge on our way back from vacation:

And Done....Sort of...

Good Evening Internet Friends.

Today was spent marathon watching the Star Wars movies so that I can accompany kiddo and hubby to the movie later this week.  My husband is a huge Star Wars fan and although our son has been educated in all of this, somehow I have never understood it.  For the longest time I though it was Garth Vader!!!!  Seriously.

For Christmas hubby got us a Blu-ray because kiddo and I seriously took out Blu-ray movies from the library and could not figure out why no player in the house would run them !@#$% Seriously, we were that silly.  Along with the player he also got us the Star Wars Complete Saga so now I am watching my way through these.  

I did get the borders put on my Plum Pudding Quilt and ambulated it over to Sharon for quilting:

Now she will do her magic on this and then all I have to do is the binding and hopefully I can have it done for next Christmas ☺

The Five Year.......

Good Evening Internet Friends.

Some people have plans, goals, and accomplishments for Five Year.

I however, might just about be finished a quilt that I started about five years ago (not really exaggerating).  Almost a year ago I got the pieces cut out and adhered to the fabric backing but did not get very far on the applique.  Recently I placed a large order to Connecting Threads as they had a 35% off sale and Free Shipping to Canada.  With the Canadian Dollar being low right now this sale off set some of that spending pinch.  One of the items I ordered was the Country Garden thread set.  When the package arrived I knew that I had some applique to do! All of the colors in the set were perfect for my Five Year Quilt Project.

As of a few minutes ago here is what I have accomplished this weekend:

I am not feeling particularly crafty this evening due to an impending asthma attack so this was the perfect occupation of my time after my son went to bed this evening.

Earlier in the day I took my son to a different ski venue than he usually skis at simply because they do three week lessons which will no conflict with Christmas Vacation.  Sadly, this place needs some serious help.  I knit for about a half hour inside the building that smelled worse than your grandmother's old damp basement and there was likely some kind of mold in there as well.  The furniture and carpet were original from when the building opened at the same time as the explores arrived (I don't think I am exaggerating here either) and in general the place just looks SAD.  Eventually I went outside for a walk but it was cold.  A sign on the building told me that the parking lot was an idle free zone so after freezing in my car I went and parked on the street and warmed up myself and the car.

My son seemed to enjoy it because although he was in a group lesson there were no other kids that could ski the same as him so he got his own instructor! ☺

 They worked on some of his techniques so by the time we get to the mountains at Christmas he will have his ski legs back☺

Christmas Vacation Day 11!

Today was another do nothing kind of day.  

We did go into Banff today for a bit and do some shopping.  I went to my favorite ski store; Abominable Sports and as usual there were a few things I picked up, new ski helmet, hiking socks with arch supports and a pair of lovely new mittens!

After dinner I worked on one of the applique quilt projects I brought with me.  My mystery quilt has me frustrated since there are errors in three steps as to the total number of pieces to make that have now at Step 9 been caught!  Seriously.... 

Here is how my applique pieces look now:

Now I just have to blanket stitch the pieces and put on the outer two borders and I will be done!

Fall Kitchen Towel

This is again a truly red eye craft.  I completed it at 0130 this morning!

When my son and I had gone last weekend to Gifts and Gadgets I found a package of three fall colored flour sack towels, and I decided I would get them and applique leaves on them with fall fat quarters I have in my stash (fabric not cookie).
