The Stockings Were Hung....

Good Evening Internet Friends!

The weekend is over!!  It was a very productive weekend and I feel a bit accomplished on top of that!!!

Friday was my day off so I got EVERYTHING that needed to be done then so that I could stay home this weekend.

Yesterday was a bit of knitting, and the rest was housework.  Every surface in this house has been washed, vacuumed, dusted, oiled and in some cases more than one of these may have been done!

There is a possibility that I may be ready for Christmas with the exception of baking that will take place on my week off before Christmas.

I started the day by baking a loaf of Banana Gingerbread.  Used up cupboard bananas so a WIN!!

Finished the hand binding on a table runner I made for my brother for Christmas.  I did attempt a machine binding but still not a fan of this type of binding.  Back to hand sewing.....

I picked up a Stocking Quilt Panel at Sew Divine recently with the intent of making the dog and cat their own Christmas Stocking.  The doggie stocking is really cute, but alas my dog is way TOOOOO big for his treats to fit in there.  I decided to use the other stocking panel with a dog on it for him and the smaller stocking will go to our family friend's new doggie who is that size:

Now it is off to walk the Montyster doggie for the evening and then get to bed as tomorrow will be a long day.

Hope this inspired your own creativity and wishing you all the BEST Day EVER Monday tomorrow.  Stay Safe out there....😷

Let's Purge...

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Got up to a nice rainy day with great plans to purge as much of my house as possible.

But.....first I stopped in my craft room.  I have some really cool in there.  "Sew" I got distracted and cut the rest of my 2.5" squares and finished this table topper:

While I was there I found a banana bread recipe that I thought I should try...so I did:

So then it was snack time....

A friend of my posted last night about rhubarb rolls and since I have not had those in years I decided to use up the last of my fresh rhubarb and make these:

Snack time AGAIN!!!  No wonder I don't lose weight or get anything done....

However, by this evening I had managed to clean and purge the bathroom downstairs; half a garbage bag, full blue bag and a partial box to be donated.

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

Clucking Along...

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Not a lot of quilting over the last few days as super busy with life; work, kiddo to school, homework, piano lessons, house work, laundry, garbage and recycling take out, walking the dog....you know....

Today was my one day a week off and it was PACKED.  I stopped at Cobs bakery after dropping my son off at school to pick up some cinnamon bread, scones, sour dough flax bread and of course Cranberry Orange Hot Cross Buns.

Then it was off to Duchesss Bakery to pick up a Banana Cream Pie for Pi Day:

If you are wondering.....Yes, it was DELICIOUS ☺

Then it was off to GO Group.  The Quilt Guild I belong to has a group of quilters all who own GO! Cutters.  They meet to share dies and ideas.

I purchased one of these for myself as a Christmas present and today I was finally able to attend GO Group.  I learned several new things from the ladies who have owned these for a while and am glad I went because this evening I did this:

TAH DAH!!!

I will be adding a border and it will become a table runner.

I am so excited that I finally used my GO! Cutter.  It was FUN.

I Made It...Again.....

Good Very Late Evening Internet Friends!

I made it to the weekend and this evening I actually completed another of my many in waiting, in progress quilting projects.

Tonight's project was to put the binding on this table topper:

It is a quilt kit that I picked up at The Quilt Patch a while back.

Once the top was quilted it once again sat until this evening after dinner when I decided that I should put the binding on!

TAH DAH.

Now it is even ready for the Thanksgiving table next weekend!  ☺

Itch....Sneeze....Scratch....Snuffle......Wheeze....

Good Evening Internet Friends!

I awoke in the wee hours of this morning with all of these wonderful allergy symptoms.  I really could be a cast member for an allergy medication most days of the week but this morning was especially bad.  I did go in to work for a couple of hours but looked so awful that I got sent home.

After some Benadryl and a prescription antihistamine eye drop I woke up this afternoon feeling a little better.  Not perfect but better.  So while my home canned chicken soup cooked for dinner I put the borders on my Strawberry Table Runner:

I think it's just "sew" pretty and summery!

Strawberry Shortcake????

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Today was a whole lot of nothing.  Somehow after all the partying yesterday both kiddo and I were too tired to do much of anything!

After lunch we did return the library books (only because they were due).

An afternoon nap was also part of the schedule.

This evening after dinner and before bedtime preparations I did go to my craft room for a bit and made two what I am referring to as Strawberry Shortcake blocks for a table runner kit that I got recently:

This fabric is not only very pretty it is also very lightly scented; it reminds me of my Strawberry Shortcake Doll.  I don't recommend keeping it in a plastic bag tightly closed for a few days as the smell was a little fragrant today when I took it out, but once it was out it was just pleasant and made me feel like a kid again!

Leisurely Saturday ☺

Good Evening Internet Friends.

My week of vacation is almost over!  I cannot believe how the time sped past and I accomplished a whole lot (more like a little) bit of NOTHING.

Today my son had swimming lessons so we did have to be out of the house by 1000 hours.  After swimming we came home and had lunch.

After getting a load of laundry going I went to my craft room.

These table runners are sitting in my craft room because I am too lazy to quilt them.  I spent the rest of my afternoon getting 4 table runners finished off, backings found, batting cut and ready to be delivered to the long arm lady tomorrow when we walk the dog!

The last one to finish today was the applique on this one:

I started this one last fall but alas it has sat now for a while all done except for the blanket stitching around the fruits.  It is one of the seasonal kits from the Quilt Patch.  I LOVE their stuff.

Took my son for dinner at The Dish Bistro this evening.  It was delightful as usual.

Watched a couple of movies this evening and now off to bed because I better start getting used to going to bed at night again. ☺

Another "Boot"iful Block! Summer Vacation Day 48!

Good Evening Internet Friends!
Another long day, but good day is almost done.
Although I got all the pieces cut last night, I only managed to get the second "Boot"iful Block done:

Now I am going to go curl up with my knitting, the cat and a quilt and see how far I get before I fall asleep...

A "Boot"iful Block! Summer Vacation Day 47!

Good Late Evening Internet Friends.  Afraid there will not be a lot of blogging or creativity going on this week as I am working evening/night shifts for most of this week.
I did manage to finish cutting the strips and assembling one block of a table runner that I picked up at Prickly Pear Quilts back in July:
Now off to get things ready for lunches tomorrow morning as that is soon approaching ☺
Hope this inspires your own creativity...

Canada Day Table Runner

I started this project this afternoon, while contemplating what to do as a Displaced Nurse.
This is a kit that I bought at Christmas time from Sew-Sisters quilt shop.
I think I will machine quilt it ...... tomorrow.
Maybe it will be done for Canada Day? I doubt it!!!

Christmas Table Runner

I put this table runner out last night as I started to decorate the house for Christmas.
I made this table runner a couple of years ago.  It uses the quilt as you go technique and works up really quickly, however, the binding took me forever to get around to doing, not sure why, but it was one of those projects I just could not complete until I forced myself to.
Now, it graces my table looking seasonally appropriate.

Blush Table Runner

I finally finished my Blush Table Runner last night.  I got this kit last spring from The Quilt Patch, and after numerous "starts" I finally got it done.
The top piecing came along easily enough, it was the quilting that got me stuck.
Last week I finally just decided that I would free motion quilt it myself, and I did.  By the time I was done, I was quite proud of myself because I did an all over stitch between the flowers, and then outlined, and highlighted all of the flower parts.  It turned out to be quite fun, and when we were in Canmore last week, I spied the new toy that I want:  HQ Sweet Sixteen!

Oh S"crap"! It's Monday...

Alright, I know the point of Oh S"crap"! It's Monday was to use up my paper scraps, but I have really been working hard over the past week or so also using up some of my fabric stash (and eating my cookie stash).
I got this pattern a while back, and decided to use up these strips from a jelly roll that I had left over.
Not normally colors that I would choose, (I actually wanted the fuchsia color way), but this also worked.
I did not quilt this table runner, but did line it with some fabric stabilizer that I also found in my craft room.
TAH DAH!!

Strawberry Table Runner

When my son spilled milk on the table last evening, I did not cry, I simply cleaned the table and put on a new table runner!
I got this as a kit last spring at Lori's Country Cottage, and it even came in a strawberry clam-shell!
The center strawberry print is a fat quarter re-purposed and then yardage around the borders, the backing is of course a strawberry print as well.
Makes me feel like spring is on the way!

Table Toppers

Have you seen this before?  I bought this fabric kit at Lori's Country Cottage last winter.  I loved the color combination and the pattern that came with it.  The pattern is called Two at a Time and designed by Designs to Share with You.  Now the kit to my knowledge was to make one of the square table toppers as you see in my blog profile, and the left overs were for a table runner.  However, either I got more fabric than I was supposed to, or I was really tight on my fabric cutting, as I was able to make 2 of the table toppers, and from the left over triangles (the square table toppers are not pieced from half square triangles) I was able to get this table runner out of it as well!  Awesome, I think I am going to have to make another of these soon, as I think they look beautiful.  Hope this inspires your own creativity...
