Good Evening Internet Friends!

After a whirlwind fall I am going to return to my blogging.  Lots of activity around here and in my world.  All of it positive and I shall share that over the next bit😃.

Crafting has taken a bit of a back seat for a bit but I have a beautiful dedicated space in which to sew and craft.  🧵

Over the last week I have again started to work on my Lush quilt.  Love this quilt because it is in my favourite navy colour as well as the design is a Wing and a Prayer original.  Anyone who knows me, I kinda fly through life on this mantra.  This evening I started to put some of the block parts together:

Love how this is coming together and hopefully over the next 2 weeks of Christmas vacation I shall get more completed.

"Sew" Much To Do

I hope you all had an amazing Christmas with family and friends and got to do a bit of crafty stuff too!

No blogging here for the past two weeks as "Sew" Much going on.

We returned home last night after going home to Saskatchewan for a bit.  Of course that was wonderful except for the -30 Celsius (-22 Fahrenheit) the evening before we returned.  I did drive through a snow storm to get there and one on the way back too!

On the way back we stopped in  Saskatoon and went to Sew Charming Crafts.  Now of course I went there to see what was there but I also went there to pick up.........

The entire set of the Kim Diehl Simple Whatnots 8 Block of the Month.  This is apparently the only shop in Western Canada carrying the program.  There was a lot of thought that went into my getting this Block of the Month because unfortunately this quilt shop does not ship so there was no way for me to avoid the Provincial Sales Tax (PST).  YIKES, is all I can say.  I could have ordered it through the US fabric shops but would have had to wait til I head down to get the mail and of course there is cost involved with that....sigh.  

Today I pulled out my scraps and completed the last 6 Star Blocks for the 2016 Star Block Weekly Quilt Block Challenge hosted by A Needle Pulling Thread Quilt Shop:

Maybe I can get these put together in to some form of a quilt before the New Year????

It snowed here most of the day, but the temperature was nice so I took the dog on an extra long walk this morning through one of the local park/recreation areas.  The park looked amazing with the snow falling:

Distracted Catch Up

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Out and about again with my son today.  The weather was warm again so it made for a wonderful time outside.

This evening I planned on making more of the Flock of Geese Blocks, but since I had the perfect scraps for a Star Block I made a Star Block for the quilt I should have finished a year ago:

Not sure which block this will be in the sequence but let me assure you that I am still well below 52 Blocks for this quilt as well.

Me Want Cookie.....

I LOVE vacation days.

Slept in this morning and in general had a very uneventful day.

This afternoon my son and I made Peppermint Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies:

Yes......we ate TOOOOO many.  But they were delicious.

I did not want to spend a lot of time decorating the cookies or losing the flavour of the cookies so we simple put icing decorations on the mittens.  

My knitting, I mean baking is done.

This evening after dinner we watched A Christmas Story.  It is my most favourite Christmas movie and yet somehow my son has not seen it!  Well, I think I have a convert to loving this movie as well.

To Leave or Not To Leave The House

Good Evening Internet Friends!

That was the very question that I asked myself today when I woke up at the crack of 1100 hours!!!  I have to go back for a shift I agreed to pick up at a specialty clinic on Friday and then have my night shift weekend coming up and I am thinking that this might prove to be a bit on the difficult side......

After a brunchy kind of meal my son and I watched a movie and I finally got around to showering.  By that time the day was almost over so I decided to give up on leaving the house and just enjoy another care free day at home.  Tomorrow I will be responsible and do laundry and get groceries ☺

I don't have a lot to show for my creativity again today as a lot of just piddly things.  I did clean up my stamping desk and decided to get a head start on next year's Christmas cards so I made two cards with scraps on the table:

Now I have two Christmas cards and I did not have to put the scraps away!!!!  BONUS!

I have completed 2 repeats for the last couple of days on my Temperature Blanket and decided to cheat today (I used the daytime high) just so that I could change colors as I have already worked 2 row repeats in the same color....grey.....

The day time high reached a balmy - 16 C (4 Fahrenheit) which meant I got to do a 2 row repeat of the next color!!!!  I will show that tomorrow.

Now, I plan to retire with my knitting as tomorrow I have to start adulting.....ugh.....

Another New Day!!!

Good Late Evening Internet Friends!

Our family is really getting into this whole concept of sleeping in, having pajama days, and not going anywhere or doing anything.  I have to return to work for night shifts this weekend.  Seriously!!!  I think this is going to be a shock to my system.

Today was another of these day, and due to the cold temperature outside of -24 C (-11 Fahrenheit) we might not be going anywhere tomorrow either!!!

I spent a good deal of time in my craft room today!  That place is loaded with the COOLEST stuff ever!!!  I still cannot take pictures of it because it is too messy for me, but I found all kinds of half finished or barely started things that I decided I would take the time to get finished.  This will take a few months/year, but that is okay.

One of the projects that I did find and at least accomplish a bit on was my July 2016 Saving Grace Block of the Month from Woodland Quilting.  There are two blocks to make each month.  "Sew" far I have completed both June Blocks and now one of the July 2016 blocks:

I LOVE this block.  It's not often that I like something that has a floral theme to it but for some reason I love this fabric and the blocks that make up this quilt ☺

Now to see what other trouble I can get into...

I Lost Today...?

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Okay, so I have no idea where today went!!!!  I really did nothing yet here it is almost midnight and I have not much to show for it and the day is gone.  This is almost as bad as a work day yet there at least I could say I was employed for 8 hours (notice I did not say I worked for 8 hours).  On top of that there was not even an afternoon nap today!!!!

I did complete another Scandi 3 Quilt Block this evening:

This is Block 16 of the 25 I am currently making.  Tomorrow I will hopefully start on the next colour of blocks.  I still LOVE this quilt.

Another Stay At Home Day!

Good Evening Internet Friends!!

Today was another Stay At Home Day!  Once again, we slept late.  I cannot remember the last time that I have slept for 10 hours straight.

After breakfast I did one load of laundry and that actually has taken all day (just recently put it in the dryer).  Did a bit of applique on my block from yesterday, a few rows of knitting, watched a movie and after a late lunch took a nap!

Before a late dinner my son and I shoveled the side walk and then took a box of cookies over to the neighbours and then walked the dog down to the River Valley Trails.

This evening I finished the applique on my 2016 Row by Row block from Along Came Quilting:

Sew What????

Good Evening Internet Friends!

I have been so busy doing nothing really the last few days that somehow I have been too busy to craft.  Part of that is due to getting home late Monday evening (after driving through a snow storm and very icy roads in Southern Alberta) I decided that the house needed to be cleaned before I could un-pack.  Seriously!  Every bed, sofa, bookshelf dresser, buffet, you name it has been moved and dusted and EVERYTHING (seriously) is in it's place.....with the exception of my craft room.  That place is a disaster.  

Every time I open the door to go in, the mess overwhelms me, "sew" right now I am focusing on one project at a time to complete and forcing myself to not start another.....even though the December box of  Yarn Crush arrived today!  It's "sew" pretty....

As far as projects that I am trying to complete, here is an almost finished Block of the Month from about 5 years ago (seriously)...

This is Plum Pudding from probably my MOST favorite quilt shop; The Quilt Patch.  I love all of their quilts (many of them are staring at me in the craft room....waiting to be completed).  

In addition to avoiding the craft room because it stresses me out right now my son and I attended a Christmas party and Farewell party last evening.  This was a very formal affair and my son thought it great fun as he was the only child in attendance (no child care of course for me).  

Today we spent most of the afternoon running errands including renewing our membership at Telus World of Science.  We did a quick tour through since we were there but plan to go back tomorrow:

 Moon Landing always has to be done.

 Climbing the wall....literally.

Building a Marble racing ramp on the wall.  

So, today was just a quick run through, what fun can be had tomorrow???
