It's Friday!!!

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Today I got into all sorts of crafty activities!

I white washed half a wooden box.

I knit a few rows on each of the three pairs of socks I have cast on right now.

I knit a few rows on the three different shawls that I have cast on.

I started cutting more paper for some Christmas cards I am making.

I made two packages for a modified Advent Calender for a quilting friend of mine:

I used Designer Series Paper (retired/expired Stampin' Up), my Advent Stamp Set (retired/expired Stampin' Up), a package of tags that I found and left over red yarn from some fingerless mittens I knit last winer!

I was pretty excited about how these turned out!

This evening I did a couple of baking things:

Skor Bar Square with frosting (had some recently without frosting - just not as good)

Drop Sugar Cookies with Christmas sprinkles!

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

Back Home

Good Evening Internet Friends.

We left Canmore this morning headed home.  The weather did not cooperate for the first couple of hours:
No, the camera is not out of focus, that's really the visibility...

Yesterday of course I had to stop at The Sugar Pine Company.  Here's my haul (I wanted more, but paced myself):
I recently used up 32 fat quarters for a quilt class I signed up for and rather than buying new fabric I went shopping in my stash.  So, I have rationalized that this purchase was necessary to keep the stash well stocked ☺

Road Trip Block # 19

I really love this particular block.  I loved the fabric when I bought this bundle of fat quarters, but the true reason I bought it was because of these colors:
SEW (spelling intended) pretty!

Road Trip Block # 17

Okay, if I keep up the pace I have been going at, I actually might be able to finish this quilt when we get home, and have it shipped before.... October???
Another pink block!

How appropriate today is the 16th and this is my 16th of these blocks!!!
Pink is not my favorite color, but this block is kind of fun...

Road Trip Block # 15

Okay, so there's NO chance in Halifax that I will get this quilt done in time for the wedding, but I am putting in a good appearance.
Meet Road Trip Block # 15!

Road Trip Block # 14

I decided I better at least sew a few more of these blocks before we leave.  At least look like I am trying to get it done.  But, really, it would still have to go to the long arm quilter to get completed and I am pretty certain no one is magically going to quilt this between now and Friday evening.
Oh well,  here is Road Trip Block # 14!

Really.... There's No Way in Halifax...... Road Trip Block # 13

One of my default expressions in daily living is "There's No Way in Halifax"!
Well, that literally applies to my project today.
Remember I am supposed to be making a quilt for the wedding of my husband's brother, and the quilt is supposed to be ready to leave with us this week for Halifax.
I don't really think that is going to happen, since I will now introduce you to Road Trip Block # 13!
I have not told my husband yet (shhhhhhh...).  This quilt will be making its arrival in a nice cardboard box via Canada Post in a few months!
Hope this inspires your own creativity...

Road Trip Block 3

I had a very productive day today!
Not only did I manage to get another block done from my Road Trip fabric, but my son and I also took the car to the car wash.  Then we cleaned out all of the winter garbage that had built up in it, vacuumed, dusted and even treated the leather seats!  Almost new car smell!
After dinner we went to the park on our bicycles because it was 26C outside today!!!  When we got back we had ice cream on the back steps before off to bed!  Must be snow in the forecast for tomorrow....... (it's Edmonton).

Road Trip Block 2

I had to make one more of these blocks last night before going to bed (red eye crafting).
I present you with a brown version!
I think this is going to a fun quilt!
