BEST Day EVER Saturday...

Good Evening Internet Friends!  Super busy of late I guess so no blogging time...🤔

It's been over a year since I went on my only shop local small businesses and Costco (because they are a good employer) mission.  To be honest I don't miss anything that the malls or box stores offer, only shopped the "A" online place once years ago (huge disappointment), and this feels good socially. 😊

On Wednesday got pet supplies from Homes Alive Pets.  Alberta owned and operated with lots of Canadian products, fabulous customer service and a delivery option!  Doggie was sure all of this was for him. 😆🐕

Today I had my hair done with the amazing Michelle at Jolie Hair & Beauty.  She can cut hair that keeps natural curls from going frizzy!!! 🤯🥳

Got a bottle of the most amazing (lightly scented so no asthma attack) hand lotion that is super soft on my hand sanitizer exacerbated eczema there too!

A not so quick trip in to Sew Divine for some border fabric yielded these finds!!! Cat fabric among other things and my Kona Club for April!😄

Put my hand splints on this evening and finished the binding on this table runner.  Picked it up at Sew Divine ...a year...or two ago.

Hope this inspires your own creativity and Stay Safe Out there.  😷😷

Wishing you all a BEST Day EVER Sunday tomorrow.

Progressing....

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Got to go for my own hair cut this evening!!!  119 days since my last haircut.  Let me tell you.....it feels great to be rid of the extra hair!!!

Knitted a bit more on my XO socks this evening:

Super tired though so going to walk the dog and head to bed.  Lots of little things to do tomorrow.

Hope this inspires your own creativity and wishing you all the BEST Day EVER Saturday tomorrow.  Stay Safe out there.

Open???

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Today was the soft reopening of the province.

After work I took kiddo for a hair cut.  He like me has not had a hair cut since January as we were both due for haircuts in March just as the hairdressers closed shop!

After his hair cut we went for burgers at Delux Burgers.  As a small local business I decided that we would support them.  Was FUN to go out again and of course the mushroom burger was delicious:

After we got home and doggie walked I made another two Flock of Geese Blocks for the 52 Week 2017 Block Challenge Hosted by Darlene D'Eon Designs:

Hope this inspires your own creativity and wishing you all the BEST Day EVER Friday tomorrow.  Stay Safe.

Busy, Busy, Busy...

Good Evening Internet Friends!

My Grandma Sadie used this expression about her life all the time.  The older I get though I am not truly sure she understood the concept of it in the manner that I do.

This morning my son and I started the day off by getting up and getting to Santa's Breakfast for 0900 hours.  We made it, although we had to eat at the preschoolers table by the time we got our food!  My son thought it was hilarious that his mom could fit at the preschoolers table ☺

Then we waited in line to meet Santa.  Santa was awesome.  My son has not got a list this year as to what he wants for Christmas so when asked by Santa what he wants he replied "stuff".  Santa was awesome and let him know that Santa has "stuff".  ☺

After that we headed off to try and get my son a hair cut.  Thankfully we were out and about early enough in the morning that his favorite hair stylist was able to squeeze him in.

Afterwards we stopped at Bulk Barn and picked up some random goodies which included these sprinkles that I put on our hot chocolate this evening after walking the dog:

Then it was back to Millennium Place for skating lessons:

After skating  headed off to his Christmas piano recital of which he played his own composition of Deck the Halls.  He was very proud of himself for accomplishing this as was I.

Then it was finally time for lunch.  We used a Groupon for poutine at My Fries.  Yummy as always.

Next up we stopped by Sweet Convenience to buy candy with (you guessed it) another Groupon I had!!!

Lastly we stopped by River City Yarns and picked up some wonderful woolly goodies.

Coming home I decided that maybe I should do something with all of the craft chaos that I have going on right now.  "Sew" here is what I accomplished:

I sewed the buttons onto my Fingerless Mittens (still a silly concept I think) that was one set of mittens from my October box of Yarn Crush.  I did have to make these mittens a little smaller than the pattern not because my hands are small but because although I knit to gauge there was not enough yarn to complete both of them as long as they were supposed to be.  Now I have 4 left over buttons for another project I guess.

Now it's off to bed as skiing starts tomorrow, and there is laundry and baking for lunches this week and groceries and house cleaning and ......................................

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

Sew What? It's a Snow Day!

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Woke up to more snow this morning.  The remote start on my Highlander somehow got scrambled and so the alarms and auto start functions refused to work properly.  Had to sweep the mountain (literally) of snow off the Focus as it seemed like a better idea than trying to get the Super Duty started in the cold.  Plus, I did not want to get my hands cold locking the hubs.  Got my son to school only 15 minutes late.

Thankfully my neighbor got his quad runner with snow plow out this morning and cleaned my side walk by the time I got back home ☺  Tried hopelessly for the next hour to reprogram my car starter with no luck (sad face).

Off to lunch at Duchess Bakery with my friend.  Lovely lunch and visit as usual.  Then I decided I should see if I could get a hair cut with Mallory at Crazy beautiful Hair and of course they were awesome as usual and fitted me in ☺

Stopped at Chapters on the way to pick up my son and was able to finally get my copy of Primitive Quilts, but still cannot locate the Cross Stitch Collection February 2015 issue which I MUST have (it has a black lab puppy on the front).

While dinner was cooking I managed to do a bit of quilting:
I made Block 3 of my Churndash Challenge that I am participating in with A Needle Pulling Thread Quilt Shop (I am actually supposed to have 5 of these blocks made...maybe tonight).

Here are all three that I have made so far.  I am using up scrap yardage for these.

Hope this inspires your own creativity...
