Oh Where oh Where did the Weekend Go....

Good Evening Internet Friends!

I cannot believe that the Easter Weekend is over!!  Today I spent trying to keep a head cold and its awful symptoms away.....not sure if I will win or not!!

I did manage somehow over this chaotic weekend to get the last three of my Twisted Star Quilt blocks completed!

This is the quilt that I joined a guild just to get the class at a reduced rate and paid a total of 130$ for.  Class got postponed because the weather, however, I did drive to Calgary that weekend and it was fine.  I bit cold but that was all.  When I asked if I could get the pattern at least to complete the quilt because I would not be able to attend the new class date I was told that I would have to buy the pattern.  "Sew"  I decided to stop wasting money on this project and using the cutting instructions and the picture away I went.  Thankfully I do know how to sew.  😎

Eventually after all the patchwork blocks and 6 of the star blocks were completed the quilt designer did send me the pattern so that I could reference her as the inspiration for this quilt:

I LOVE the bright colors of this quilt and it will look amazing on my navy leather sofa!!!

Hope this inspires your own creativity and wishing you the
BEST Day EVER Monday.  πŸŽ‰

Stars In My Eyes....

Good Evening Internet Friends!!

Okay, seriously though.....I DO have stars in my eyes right now.  I (yes me) managed to somehow slip on the smallest wet patch on the trail this evening while out for a run with the DOG!!!

Feeling a little better now (albeit sore already) "sew" I decided to put together another of the Twisted Star Blocks:

TAH DAH!!!

Hope this inspires your own creativity and wishing you all the
BEST Tuesday EVER!!!

Sunday Funday!

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Along with house work and get ready for the work week ahead I did mange to get the third row sewed on to my Twisted Star Quilt!!!

After lunch I made some Oatmeal, Chocolate, Banana, Zucchini muffins.  The recipe made 18 so I took some over to my friend and neighbours as she has teenage boys and I do know how that species is ALWAYS hungry!!

Hoping this inspires your own creativity and wishing you the
BEST Monday EVER!!!

And Then...

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Busy day as usual around here.

Walked the dog early this morning of course.  After I got back from being out with the dog I made Buttermilk Pancakes for breakfast:

After lunch I made two Apple Cherry Crisps with frozen fruit from the freezer.  One for us and one for the neighbors that I will walk over later today.

For dinner I made Chicken Yakitori:

After dinner I made another of the Twisted Star blocks so I now have another row complete.  Hopefully tomorrow I will have time to sew it on to the other rows ☺.

TAH DAH!!!

Hope this inspires your own creativity and wishing you all the
BEST Sunday EVERπŸŽ‰.

A Little More...

Good Evening Internet Friends!

This evening I did another Twisted Star Block and attached it to one of the pre made patchwork blocks.  I have all of the patch work blocks completed cause they were easy to make from the picture!

I am now officially more than half done the center piecing for this quilt!!!

Hope this inspires your own creativity and

And Then.....

Good Evening Internet Friends!

So much going on this week but I took a bit of time to myself this evening and made another of the Twisted Star Blocks.  These are the blocks that I have been making with only the cutting instructions as the class I signed up for was moved to another date of which I cannot attend.  I do not get a refund as the class has not been cancelled, but I also was told that I would not get the pattern if I did not attend the class.  Pattern will release in June 2019 and I could purchase it in addition to the class and guild membership fees I paid to be in the class.  😠

"SEW" in typical Kathy fashion I decided to make it on my own.  The designer of the pattern eventually did feel sorry for me and did send me the instructions but I was already half done making the blocks:

TAH DAH!!!  I still do love this block and it will have a very special place to be in the next few months.

Hope this inspires your own creativity and
BEST Day EVER Friday.  πŸŽ‰

And "Sew" On...

Good Evening Internet Friends!

It was my LEAST favourite day of the year.  Time Change Day.  Uggh....

So I decided if I was extra productive maybe I could fall asleep on time this evening.

Up and out with the dog early.

Made Strawberry French Toast for breakfast:

Then it was out the door to Pet Valu with doggo for a bath.

On the way home I stopped to wash, clean out and vacuum the car so kiddo and dog walked the rest of the way home.  They both needed some spring air I figured.

After dinner I sewed another of the Twisted Star Blocks and then sewed row one and two together:

TAH DAH!!!

Seriously loving the look of this quilt.

Hope this inspires your own creativity and wishing you all the
BEST Day EVER Monday!!

And GOOOOOO....

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Got up early this morning because of course the dog seems to have no sense of weekend, day off, PD day or anything.  By 0530 he is literally sitting by my bed sighing cause I still have not taken him out.

It was a beautiful morning out so I walked him longer than usual.  After making breakfast I decided that today was house cleaning day.  Seriously.  As I am writing this there is not one surface in this house that has not been wiped, washed, polished, oiled, dusted, swept or vacuumed!  It may have taken all day but pretty proud of myself for doing this.  Maybe spring is on its way???

Then it was dinner time.....hmmmm...took a look in the fridge, freezer, and pantry and thanks to my great devotion to Costco dinner was a breeze!

Chicken Breasts, Mayo, Pretzel Chips, Broccoli, Potatoes, Smoked Gouda, Milk, Alpine Touch Spice (USA), Mustard, and Sour Cream all purchased from Costco.

Parsnip and Garlic were in the refrigerator.

Pretzel Crusted Chicken, Steamed Broccoli, Parsnip Garlic Potato Mash with Smoked Gouda dipping sauce.  YUM!!

After dinner I decided to make another of my Twisted Star Blocks.  This is the class that I joined a guild to get discount pricing on.  Paid for the class that was postponed to another date that I will not be able to attend and when asked if I could at least get the pattern I was told by the organizer that I would have to purchase the pattern when it became available.  WELL!!!  I decided I would just do it on my own.

"SEW" I did.  I was actually quite proud of myself.  I did have to fiddle and fudge some of the seams but the star blocks were the same size as the 9 patch blocks "sew" I was pretty pleased.

The quilt designer found out about my dilemma and helped me out.  "SEW" no more fudging or fiddling to make the points match!!

The top row of star blocks is made with no pattern.

Hope this inspires your own creativity and wishing you all the
BEST Day EVER Sunday (although it is Time Change Day....)πŸŽ‰
