Boot Scootin' Christmas...

 Good Evening Internet Friends!!!

Busy day at work today.  Made a quick dinner out of gnocchi, steamed broccoli, red onion, mushrooms and a cream sauce topped with Better Than Bacon Topper.  Turned out yummy and left overs for kiddo's lunch tomorrow.

After dinner I decided that I should get going on the Christmas table runner I am making for my brother.  Bought this kit several years ago and decided to assemble this year.  The news at dinner also reminded me of the dates to mail things for Christmas delivery so maybe I should get going...

Super excited about this as I used what might be my new FAVOURITE product:  fusible batting.  Sooooo, much easier than quilt batting!!!  Picked this up with help from Pat and staff at Sew Divine.   Stitched around the borders and a few of the boots in the center this evening.  If I do a couple each night I just might be able to get the binding on it this weekend and post before the Christmas deadline for postal services.

Hope this inspires your own creativity.  Wishing y'all the BEST Day EVER Tuesday out there tomorrow and Stay Safe😷.

Smokin'

Good Evening Internet Friends!

WOW!!!  I had not realized how long it has been since I did a blog post.  Too much on the go but I do try to get a bit of creative ME time in every day🧵

Yesterday I came home from work early due to the heavy smoke that we have been gifted from the forest fires in Northern Alberta. There was ash on my car and on the deck!  After a couple of hours of the smoke entering the clinic with each patient I started to wheeze and cough!  My asthma and allergies have been acting up to start with this spring.

Today I stayed home as the air quality still remains poor.  Took a couple of naps because breathing is hard work.  Seriously.

I did make dinner:

Barbecue lentil stuffed sweet potatoes topped with salsa, sour cream and Parmesan cheese.  A side of broccoli salad rounded out the meal as well as moved a couple of items out of the refrigerator.  🥘

I did a bit of knitting today between naps as not a lot of energy to do anything.  I did also finish the embroider (for lack of a better word) on the quilt label that I started for the quilt I gifted my friend last year at her wedding:

Family members who along wit me attended have their names underneath as well.

Hopefully this weekend I can get this label sewed on and give it back to her Monday.  That will clean something out of my craft room!!

Hope this inspires your own creativity and wishing you all the
BEST Day EVER Saturday tomorrow.

Cheers.

What's For Lunch???

Good Day Internet Friends!

It is super cold outside today and I am working night shift tonight.  Since it is the weekend, everyone is home, so I still have the important question of "What's For Lunch"?

I looked in the refrigerator and what I found was a great big bag (Costco) sized of broccoli.  So, I made Broccoli Cheddar Soup for lunch:
It was delicious!

Now off for a nap....

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

Christmas Lunch Potluck

Today was the annual Christmas Lunch Potluck for our department at work.
My son's Christmas concert was last evening, and I did not have to time to make anything exquisite for the potluck today.  So, I took my all time favorite standby Broccoli Casserole:
As usual it was a hit, and everyone wanted the recipe, so here goes:

Broccoli Casserole:
1 head of broccoli steamed til just not crunchy placed in casserole dish
- in a separate bowl mix together:
1 can mushroom soup
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup ranch or caesar or cucumber salad dressing (whatever you have on hand)
-pour over the broccoli
- top with about 1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese
- crush 1 1/2 cups cheese crackers and sprinkle over top of entire casserole
Bake at 350F for about 45 minutes.  Enjoy!

Hope this inspires your own creativity...
