The Weekend!!!

Good Evening Internet Friends!

The weekend now seems less exciting as it does when one has a work week and extracurricular schedule.  Hmmmm.

Today I walked the dog slowly around the neighborhood with full mask as asthma is still bothering me.

After lunch I made some greeting cards.  I have three friends who have a birthday in the month of April.  There are also a few friends that I know are hunkered down for their health as well as all of ours.  For them I thought a card in the mail would be a nice surprise:

After dinner I sewed a few more rows on to my Laundry Basket Mystery Quilt:

Off to walk doggie one last time this evening.

Hope this inspires your own creativity.  Wishing you all the BEST Day EVER Sunday tomorrow.  Stay Safe🙏

Smokin'

Good Evening Internet Friends!

WOW!!!  I had not realized how long it has been since I did a blog post.  Too much on the go but I do try to get a bit of creative ME time in every day🧵

Yesterday I came home from work early due to the heavy smoke that we have been gifted from the forest fires in Northern Alberta. There was ash on my car and on the deck!  After a couple of hours of the smoke entering the clinic with each patient I started to wheeze and cough!  My asthma and allergies have been acting up to start with this spring.

Today I stayed home as the air quality still remains poor.  Took a couple of naps because breathing is hard work.  Seriously.

I did make dinner:

Barbecue lentil stuffed sweet potatoes topped with salsa, sour cream and Parmesan cheese.  A side of broccoli salad rounded out the meal as well as moved a couple of items out of the refrigerator.  🥘

I did a bit of knitting today between naps as not a lot of energy to do anything.  I did also finish the embroider (for lack of a better word) on the quilt label that I started for the quilt I gifted my friend last year at her wedding:

Family members who along wit me attended have their names underneath as well.

Hopefully this weekend I can get this label sewed on and give it back to her Monday.  That will clean something out of my craft room!!

Hope this inspires your own creativity and wishing you all the
BEST Day EVER Saturday tomorrow.

Cheers.

Wheeze On...

Good Evening Internet Friends!

I was super excited last night with some of the things I have been able to accomplish of late.  Since moving I have somehow been able to keep fresh fruit and vegetables cut up ready for lunches in the refrigerator.  Have soups, casseroles, bread, and other baked goods ready for lunches, and other foods prepped and ready for dinner when I get home.  Then I do a bit of house tidy every evening.  Have somehow managed to stay on top of laundry at all times.  Dog is walked on the community trails and although that takes time I have NO backyard clean up.

After my "Adulting" occurs I spend a bit of time in my craft room and am starting to make some obvious progress on some of my TO DO pile of crafts.

One of these is the 2016 (not a typo) 52 Week Block Challenge Hosted by A Needle Pulling Thread Quilt Shop.  Last evening I placed out all 52 blocks...yes there are only 49 in the picture....there is a reason:

TAH DAH!!!

Then I started to sew the blocks and rows together with the intent that I would really have SOMETHING to show you all this evening:

Well.....thanks to spending a good part of today in my favourite Emergency Department due to an asthma attack....this is as far as I got yesterday evening.  I am planning to head out in the morning for a bit and get a border fabric, binding and backing as tomorrow is Local Quilt Shop Day.  "Sew" of course I will be hitting up a couple of my favourite shops.

Hope this inspires your own creativity and wishing you all the
BEST Day EVER Saturday tomorrow.  🎉

Still Waiting...

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Since yesterday mid afternoon we have been warned about a very bad storm that will be in the area.  All day it looked like it might rain but so far in my hood there has been NOTHING.  A bit of wind at times and that is all.

Still feeling a bit weak after my asthma attack yesterday.

"Sew" for today in addition to going to the St Albert Farmers' Market I did some sock knitting and made another two of the Flying Geese Blocks for my Flowers for My Wedding Ring quilt:

Feeling exhausted again, so think it is time to tuck into bed and maybe take my knitting with me.

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

Barnyard Quilt...

Good Morning Internet Friends!

Yes I should have gone to bed by now but my sleep pattern is all wonky right now thanks to all my puffers.

I have been struggling with my asthma as it is fall, but additionally being in contact this week with someone who was drenched in essential oils to help some health symptom she had.  🙍DOH!

I did finish the Barnyard Quilt Kit:

I loved this fabric as it reminded me of my son's favourite book as a toddler; Duck on a Bike.  If you look closely you will see duck (okay it is a goose) appliqued outside of the fence as duck has escaped the confines of the quilt fence. 🦆

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

HOLY Cats!!!

Good Evening Internet Friends.

Today was another slow day.  I did get up and get my son to school, and myself to work but by 1030 hours I was EXHAUSTED!!!!  Who knew a Registered Nurse would spend her day walking????

Coming home I slept for 6 hours straight!!!!

Feel a little better this evening but the cough is still tight and lingering.

After my son got home from school and just before dinner I sewed the last row of 5 blocks on to my Tabby Road Quilt.  I think that this quilt will be going to the Claresholm Fibre Arts & Quilt Fair this weekend:

This quilt really is BRIGHT!  But as my son says "what's not to like about it"?

Hope this inspires your own creativity...
