It's Snowing!

Good Evening Internet Friends!

After dinner and piano lessons this evening my son and I stopped by the library.  By the time we came out it was SNOWING!

Yes, I am probably the only person excited about snow right now, but seriously, this is Western Canada and almost December and there is no snow on the ground and the temperature has not been below - 6 C (21 Fahrenheit).

After getting all the household chores done and preparation for lunches and clothing for tomorrow I took five (okay maybe seven) minutes to myself in my craft room!

Since there appears to be snow outside I decided to make snowball blocks for a quilt panel that I should have finished a while ago.....

Fourteen more of each of these and I can sort of start the assembly....still not sure how exactly I am going to do the panel.....but inspiration will hopefully come sometime before Friday evening.

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

No Plan Sunday

Good Very Late Evening Internet Friends!

When I awoke at 0722 hours this morning I was ready to get out of bed and get the day started and get through all the things racing around in my head that needed to be done.  Then, I paused for a minute and realized I am on VACATION and I do not have to get up early and run around accomplishing a whole list of things today, so I went back to sleep til almost 1000 hours ☺

After breakfast I did a bit of tidying and dusting.  Watched a little tele with my son and knit some on my current project from my June box of Yarn Crush.  This month's project is not quite as bizarre as last month's, but almost.  There is serious planning at this time to not renew the subscription next time it comes due.  We will see about the sock club that has been released through Yarn Crush....

After lunch we went to the library to get books for the road trip out to the farm.  The fountain was operational today so we stood and watched for a while:

Leaving the library I decided to take the Henday home.  Part way home I realized that if I made a left merge rather than a right merge we could go see:

The Fort Saskatchewan Sheep!  They were so cute, we did not stay long partly because this was an unplanned trip and I had no apples or carrots, and I had ice cream in the car ☺

Arriving home it was dinner time and after dinner we took puppy for a walk.

Once kid was tucked into bed I went to my craft room for a bit and made another pillow case :

I truly do LOVE this flannel.  It is so soft and wonderful to work with.

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

The 2 Day Work Week is DONE!!!

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Yes, you read that correctly.  After having last week off due to my injury and Monday and Tuesday being part of my regular days off, I only worked Wednesday and Thursday this week.  The Social Worker joked yesterday and today about that and many times "Thanked" me for showing up yesterday and then today for two days in a row!

This evening was piano lessons and then a stop at the St. Albert Public Library for some books I had requested.

After dinner my son and I assembled the Valentine's treats for his class.  Then off to bed.

I went to my craft room for a bit and made the last of 6 1/2" Churn Dash Blocks:

Tomorrow I might be able to start on the larger ones, however, since my friends know that I am staying home for this vacation the offers for lunch dates have started pouring in!

Tomorrow I am off to have sushi lunch with my friend Helen.  Later in the evening another friend and I are going to go to a yoga class and then out for coffee.  Kiddo is going to have a play date with his twin friends, so I get some ME time.

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

Block 18 ☺

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Today was a "Do Nothing" kind of day around our house.  Not sure exactly why, but I really did not get much of anything accomplished.

Yesterday afternoon my son and I ventured out on a sort of Road Trip.  We went to Lori's Country Cottage because I decided that I needed to participate in the Alberta Row by Row Experience.  I picked up my kit there and then decided it was time to check out the Fort Saskatchewan Sheep:

As usual, they were so cute!!!  ☺

Then we headed on to the Woodland's Water Park because it was a super hot day:

My son had lots of fun running through the sprinklers then drying off playing in the park.  We stopped at the Local Quilt Shop in St. Albert as they are also participating in the Alberta Row by Row Experience.  As usual this place was disappointing again......

Last stop of the day was the library to register in the summer reading program and get a few books to read out at the farm and where ever our travels take us in the next few days.  The piano was out and so of course my son stopped to play for a bit:

As for today, I managed to sew Block 17 of my Churn Dash Challenge:

For dinner, I made a pizza with all the left over cheese, mushrooms and green peppers in the refrigerator:

I think I will do some knitting for the rest of this evening and think about what I can get into tomorrow☺

Hope this inspires your own creativity...
