"Sew" It Goes...

Good Evening Internet Friends!

I have been struggling with the ability to breathe for the past few weeks due to all the pollen in the air.  Today was going to be my last day of work for the week and then I was to be set to have the first weekend off in I do not know how long!  

BIG PLANS!!!

Oh, but wait.......thanks to some unplanned for smoking in my immediate presence.....that all came crashing down literally.  By 1300 and literally a million doses of puffers I came home exhausted.  Airways open finally, but completely exhausted.  A very long nap this afternoon in my climate controlled bubble house and still feeling tired.

For dinner I wanted French Onion Soup - but did not want to chew through a whole piece of bread so I cut my toast up:

Delicious and salty just what I was looking for.

Later this evening I ventured down to my craft room.  I was fortunate enough to be able to find a bit of the blue Tabby Road fabric at Quiltessential Co in St Albert.  Not enough to make my Grammy another quilt to replace the one that has gone astray, but enough to make a Knitting Project Bag.

I wanted a bigger size that would carry more than one skein for my colour work projects so after doing some measuring I came up with this:

No, I will not be writing this one up as a pattern.  Too much time and effort on my part, and it takes the fun out of my creativity ☺♫.  If you want to come over and sew I can show you how ☺

Half Way...

Good Afternoon Internet Friends!

I shall post earlier than I usually do today.  

Today is the half way point in what I am referring to my double double shifts!  Somehow I have agreed to work 7 days straight, double shifts in this, and of course overtime!  Not sure how I did this but have reached the half way point.  😼

I have also reached the half way point with my Flying Geese Blocks for my Flowers for My Wedding Ring Quilt:

I am in awe of how awesome these blocks are turning out.  This quilt is going to be AMAZING!!!!

Knitting Along...

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Earlier this winter I had a bit of a crafting burn out.  After two years of sewing to help someone out and no end in sight I just gave up.  DONE.  

"Sew" many of my own projects were put on hiatus, and my hobbies were no longer enjoyable.  I am now starting to get back into enjoying my hobbies.

One of the projects I really wanted to start on was my Sock Crush Subscription box.  As you likely know I love my Quebec yarns, and this sock blank by Studio de Laine Cactus Yarn Studio was in the box!!!  I was SO excited to see it.

Keepin' it Between the Rhubarb...

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Stopped by my amazing friend Lynn's on Saturday evening and was gifted a huge bag of fresh rhubarb!  This evening was the first time though that I have been able to get to it.

I asked my son what he wanted first and the response was "CAKE", so I made our favourite Rhubarb Cake:

Quite proud of myself with this one as well.  Dinner required oven time so I mixed up the cake and put in the oven alongside dinner.  While everything was cooking dog and I headed out for our evening walk.  Leaving home there was a very light mist to the air but by the time we made 7.06 mi home we were both DRENCHED!!☔🐕  

Warm cake fresh from the oven helped with that.

And The Thunder Rolls...

Good Evening Internet Friends!

I am BACK!!!  I have been absent from my crafting world for the past couple months as I prepared to write a national re-certification examination.

I am now finished that and can focus on ME again.

This evening after walking the dog and the kiddo (both need to get outside regularly) I headed down to my craft room.  Totally mesmerized by ALL the cool stuff in there I decided that I should probably complete something.

With a beautiful thunderstorm outside I set about making more of the flying geese units for my Flower's for My Wedding Ring Quilt.

Time Out....

Good Evening Internet Friends!

For the first time in almost a month I decided that tonight rather than be responsible on a Friday evening after working another double shift at the start of the May long weekend; I would take a few minutes to myself.  

This is a sock blank that I received in my monthly subscription to Sock Crush a few months ago.

As you can see my progress has been limited while I work on being responsible.  Ughhhh.

Guild Treats!

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Crazy, super busy with all of my commitments and adult responsibilities right now but it was Quilt Guild Meeting tonight.  That meant I had to go since I volunteered to be on the Membership Committee and have been occupied at other events and not in attendance for the two meetings now.  It also meant that since I have set the precedent of always having some kind of hand/home made treat I needed an idea.

Here is what I came up with since Mother's Day is just around the corner:

Thankfully another Quilt Guild member recognized the amount of things I have to do right now and over the next few weeks and volunteered to help with stamping, punching and assembly of these.
