Happy Mother's Day...

Happy Mother's Day Internet Friends!

I spent most of my day in the kitchen.  Before y'all sigh,,,, I LOVE spending time in my kitchen.

For breakfast I made buttermilk waffles with fresh strawberries, and raspberries.  Served with whipped cream and Maple Syrup from Quebec:

For lunch I made my son's favourite lunch of Macaroni and Cheese.  I topped with deep fried onions for a different flavour:

For Dinner I made a roasted cauliflower/lentil dal:

For dessert I made a coconut cheese cake square:

SOOO Yummy!

Plan to knit a bit before I take doggie for a walk.

Hope this inspires your own creativity and wishing you all the BEST Day EVER Monday tomorrow.  Stay safe.

Good Friday...

Good Evening Internet Friends!

I hope that everyone had a Blessed Good Friday.

Today I did a lot of baking in preparation for Easter.

Kiddo is still under the weather with the cold/flu thing he has had for almost a week.

First off I made Buttermilk Waffles for breakfast:

SO YUM!!!

Then I decided to make Babka (the link will take you to the recipe I use - and as always the raisins were picked from the trail mix bag).

Rubber Dinosaur (that is his proper name) stood watch over the entire process.

SO YUM with fresh butter!

Earlier in the week I found sour cabbage heads at the No Frills.  There is a really nice and clean one close to my house and I stop there for things that Costco does not carry like green onions and radishes and random zucchini.

Of course I had to make Cabbage Rolls:

With neither kiddo nor I feeling well this was comfort food!!!

Might relax with my knitting for a bit this evening.

Hope this inspires your own creativity and wishing you the
Best Day EVER Saturday🎉

The WEEKEND!!!

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Alas, I had such high hopes and expectations for this weekend, but thanks to the asthma attack yesterday I was in s...l....o....w.... motion today.

Dog of course woke me up way too early to take him for his walk.  I did not walk very fast and so he had lots of time to snuffle around.  He did not seem to mind.  I do have to admit that I love these morning walks.  Everything is just very peaceful and calm out there and the parks and paths look so pretty:

One of our favourite stomping grounds.

Took me quite a while to get home due to my slow moving speed, but on the way home I decided that I would make buttermilk waffles for breakfast.

DELICIOUS!

After a nap I headed out to support Local Quilt Shop Day.  Okay, truth is I decided to participate in a quilting class next weekend and needed some fabric for it.  I had no idea what I wanted other than I wanted navy for it and preferably bright colours.  Since I had NO idea what I was looking for I headed out to Johnson's Sewing Centre where I knew the amazing Heather would know what I need.  She did:

TAH DAH!!!  All ready for class.....except for cutting but you know I still have a week for that😉.

While dinner was in the oven I made a loaf of banana bread to help out with the lunch prep for the week that I will start on tomorrow:

One less thing to do tomorrow.

Hope this inspires your own creativity and wishing you all the
BEST Sunday EVER tomorrow.🎉
