It's Here!!!!

Good Evening Internet Friends!!!

My very long awaited Anne of Green Gables Fabric has arrived!!!  I have now received all the fabric necessary to start my quilt:

I am "sew" excited to start this but still have another day of work and then some other Kathy adventures for later this week ☺

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

Block 7

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Got to spend a bit of time at home this evening while hubby and kid went out to Boy Scouts.

I decided that I would try to finish Block 7 of my Prairie Rose Block of the Month:

I now have 5 of the nine blocks for this quilt done!  Hoping I can stay somewhat motivated and on task to get this one done soon as it is very pretty once assembled ☺

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

Baking Day!

Good Evening Internet Friends!

This morning I used up the last of the home made bread for french toast breakfast:

This afternoon before taking kid and dog out for a walk I made bread and left it to rise.  Returning home I baked it:
So delicious!!   I love fresh baked bread.

Will do a bit of knitting her before getting ready for bed now as tomorrow is back to work ☺

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

More Birthday ☺

Good Evening Internet Friends!

As you know I often have BIG ideas and then I get distracted.

My neighbor is always demanding that I knit something for her.  Not sure she realizes how much time goes in to knitting and that this s not something I do for just anyone.  I did however succumb to knitting a shawl that seems to be a quick popular knit right now.  There are a couple of mistakes in it that I did not fix.  Hopefully this will stop her from demanding me to knit....

I used one of the colour ways from my Sweet Georgia Yarns Sock Yarn Club.

I actually started this shawl in December hoping that I would finish it in time.......but, alas, I finished this week.

Today I used one of my Paper Pumpkin kits to make the gift bag:

TAH DAHHHHHH!!!

Inside the bag I folded up the shawl:

Here's hoping that she likes her one month late Birthday Present ☺

Another Doggie Bag???

Good Evening Internet Friends!

A very busy day today of errands and such so I only have only completed a quick project today, and no it does not have to do with dinner!!!!

The neighbor has once again dropped off fabric and requested that I make her two of the doggie fabric tote bags:

TAH DAH!!!

Second bag completed.  One of these days I am going to have to draw the line at this sewing on whim....

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

Week 8

Good Evening Internet Friends!

It seems hard to believe but it is already Week 8 of 2017!  Maybe more remarkable is the fact that it is Week 8 and I am still on track with my Flock of Geese Blocks.  This is the weekly block this year from A Needle Pulling Thread:

Here are all 8 of these little blocks ☺

The BEST part of these blocks is that no new fabric was cut or harmed in the making of these!  These blocks are completely made from scrap fabric!  ☺

Star Block

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Well, back to work today!

This evening I only had a bit of time to spend in my craft room, but I did manage to make another Star Block for the Star Block Challenge from A Needle Pulling Thread Quilt Shop {it's last year's challenge - I think I am on the remedial plan}:

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

Family Day

Good Evening Internet Friends!

I trust that everyone had a wonderful and relaxing family day.

At our house we sure did.  Slept late after watching movies until early this morning.  After breakfast I started on making bread:

While the bread was rising I worked on my Prairie Rose Block of the Month from Prairie Points Quilt Shop.  I was inspired to get back at this twice yesterday; first time was when Lynn posted about putting hers on the quilt frame, second was when a random lady posted hers as being complete!!!  Today I did the center portion of Block 7:

"Sew" far I have completed Blocks 1, 2, 3, and 4.  Really if I just did it I could get it finished.....

After baking the bread my son, the puppy and I headed out for a walk:

I love the classic homes in our neighbourhood.  I really do love these old neighbourhoods.

Just before our walk my son asked if we could have pizza for dinner.  Sure!!!  Whole wheat pizza crust was set to rise while we were out on our walk:

My son did the toppings and as such there is a plethora of mushrooms and most of the block of fresh mozzarella is on there!  Yummy.......

Row By Row......

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Today I was finally feeling well enough to play in my craft room ☺ Of course I also did not leave the house ....

I finished the applique and assembly of my 2016 Row by Row from Bearly Square Quilting.  This is without a doubt my favorite of all the blocks I collected.  The theme for 2016 was "HOME" and nothing says "HOME" to me more than this block:

I LOVE this block.  I am even thinking that I should make another one and have it framed for my dining room ☺

As of this evening I now have 8 of my 22 blocks collected this summer while on vacation:

TAH DAH.

Blocks are Left to Right:
Edmonton, AB
Havre, MT

Top to Bottom:
Calgary, AB
Havre, MT (cause both shops had awesome blocks)
Fort St. John, BC (another one to do yet)
Moose Jaw, SK (another one to do yet)
Lethbridge, AB
Swift Current, SK.

I love making these Summer Vacation Quilts!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day Internet Friends!

I hope you all had a special day and felt loved - as you should every day.

Attempted to go to work this morning but my physician colleagues wrote me a sick note to go home; a joke sort of, but mostly....GO HOME.

No crafting done today, seriously even knitting was too much effort.

I will show you though that my son and I made these from a Paper Pumpkin kit I found in the craft room on the weekend:

We had fun making and filling these with candy on Saturday afternoon and there was somehow enough candy for the bags (and what we ate) and 2 pieces of each left over after filling the bags! ☺

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

I'm Sick....

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Well, a night of coughing and sneezing and ear ache and sore throat did not make me better for today.

Cold sweats and face sore from sinuses by the time I got my son to school....time to go home.

Many cold remedies and medications later this evening I thought I would attempt my craft room.  I successfully made this:

I had actually put the small blocks together on the weekend so all I had to do tonight was three short seams and that was all I could do before crawling back into bed with my heating pad.

Achooooo....sniffle.....

Hope your own creativity is not squelched tonight ...

Comfort Food....

Good Evening Internet Friends!

About a week ago a head cold moved in on me.  For the past few days it has been trying to over take me!  I awoke today with a headache, chills and so much nasal pressure my teeth hurt!

I always lose weight when I get sick (at least 5 lbs) so in preparation for that I decided I would at least eat comfort food today so that if this develops further I don't need to find my "after sick" pants.

Breakfast was French Toast with fruit because although it should have been Awful Waffle Sunday that just seemed like too much energy:

YUM!!!

Lunch was pasta and cheese sauce - no not the kind from the box with processed cheese:

Again, YUM!

This afternoon I made a Banana cake with Cream Cheese Icing as my son and I were invited for Roast Beef Dinner at the neighbours:

Although I will not eat fresh bananas except under very green circumstances I do find baked banana things comforting and cream cheese icing is always a plus!

Now to find my heating pad and all the warm quilts I can and hopefully sleep this cold off for tomorrow.

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

Saturday Fun Day!

Good Evening Internet Friends!

We have apparently come out of the deep freeze of winter today for a while.

After swimming lessons this morning my son and I and the dog headed out to the River Valley.  It was a lovely 15 kilometer (9.2 mile) walk.  Dog is currently asleep ☺

Before we departed for our walk I put beans, lentils, and ground bison in the slow cooker to make chili and made some bread dough and left it to rise.

Arriving home from the cool of the walk the chili smelled wonderful and I put the bread into the oven to bake:

This evening kiddo and I are going to watch some movies and maybe even have a family room camp out for the night!

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

Barn Building...

Good Evening Internet Friends!

It is Finally Friday!!!  I do not understand why when I start work in the middle of the week and it is only for three days that the week seems to just go on forever.  I really do love my job, but this weekend seemed to take forever to come!

After dinner, and a hot bubble bath to try and warm up (I've been cold for a week....yes I often quote Robert Service and The Cremation of Sam McGee) my bones, muscles and maybe even my heart I got on my warmest jammies and went to my craft room.

Once there I built the second part of my Row by Row from Bearly Square Quilting:

In hind site I would have liked to have had a little more fabric to play with to get the barn boards all to go the same direction......but....it is what it is.

I do love this block.  It is one that I just HAD to have this year especially since the theme was "HOME".

Now, I think I shall settle in with my knitting and maybe get ready for sleep!

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

Progress?

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Back at work today.  These three day weeks starting in the middle of the week always seem so long.

This evening after getting my son to bed I decided I would make another Star Block:

TAH DAH!!!  Block 22 is completed and still using up scrap pieces.  Only 30 more blocks to make ☺

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

Block of the Month

Good Evening Internet Friends!

As you many have gathered by now I have the attention span of a squirrel or some such nonsense.  I start projects with great hope, but I get distracted easily and sometimes it takes years for anything to actually come to fruition.

This is the case with my Saving Grace quilt:

This is the fourth block, and although that may sound like I am not that far behind......it's actually on the second installment of the kit....."Sew" far I have assembled the first four blocks!

It is pretty and I hope that sometime this year I might actually be able to finish this quilt ☺

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

"Sew" Many Stars...

Good Evening Internet Friends!

Errands and household chores all done today.  That meant I had a bit of time to myself after getting my son to bed, so I spent a wee bit of time in my craft room!

Out of my Scraps I made Block 21 for the Star Block Challenge that I decided to participate in last year (only 31 more to do):

TAH DAH!!!

I really do love star blocks and this one at 6.5" square is just really kinda cute I think ☺

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

S"crap"! It's Monday....

Good Evening Internet Friends!

I am sort of back in the land of the normal people's......Turn around day is always hard for me, and somehow today I have accomplished nothing more than sleeping and napping in various parts of the house ☺

After dinner I decided to play in my craft room thinking that would wake me up, however I am on my way to sleep soon...

I did manage to make Week Six of my Flying Geese Block (notice I am still on schedule):

This is the yearly quilt challenge block from A Needle Pulling Thread Quilt Shop.  Not only are these blocks always beautiful, I also love that I can make them using S"crap"s.  I have LOTS of those. ☺

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

Swimming Knitting

Good Evening Internet Friends!

As you likely know I love to knit.  I have always knit, and have knit to keep myself occupied since my son's extra curricular activities no longer require my direct support.  I have noticed over the past couple of years a few more moms doing similar things rather than just playing on their smart phones ☺

Today of course was swimming lessons.  I have taken to simply packing a sock yarn pack in all of  my son's extra curricular bags and that way I do not forget to take it with me when we depart home.

Right now in the swimming bag is one of my Yarn Crush subscription yarns.  I love this particular yarn because it is a wool and yak blend and really soft:

This is also the first time that I have attempted a Wrap and Turn Heel ☺

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

The Face of the Mountain

Good Evening Internet Friends!!

Not a lot of crafting accomplishments today.  I did however late this evening finish the applique on my Row by Row from Bearly Square Quilting:

TAH DAH!!!

Now to see how I progress with the other two sections of this block ☺

Hope this inspires your own creativity...

This is Star Block 20!!  Now only 32 more to go and I will be caught up on last years quilt organized by A Needle Pulling Thread Quilt Shop. ☺

When Life Gives You Scraps...

Good Evening Internet Friends!

When Life Gives you Scraps.....you make a quilt of course!

Today was back to work and resume normal activities after a somewhat extended weekend.

After dinner, and grocery shopping and errands I took a wee bit of time to myself in my craft room and made:

Block 5 of my Flying Geese Block for the Flying Geese Block Challenge organized by A Needle Pulling Thread Quilt Shop.

Now it's time to do a wee bit of knitting and then off to bed as tomorrow awaits with lots of things to do ☺

Hope this inspires your own creativity...
